Mentoring Program

1

Be the Dream Initiative

The success of all children is a priority in Kentwood.  We don't just talk about "Excellence and Equity," we do our very best to live it every day.  We understand that some of our children require additional assistance to achieve at the highest level.

In reviewing standardized test data for evidence of achievement gaps in our district, it has become clear that our African American male students are not yet achieving at the desired level.  We need your help!  Our goal is to place as many African American role models in our elementary schools as possible.

How can you help?  We are asking for one hour of your time per week to read and provide glimpses of your college and/or career field.  By building relationships, talking about your career and inspiring the children of our district, we believe you can make a difference in making this dream a reality.
